Formation and composition:

Septarian is not a mineral; it is a natural formation that originates from the cracking of rock nodules. The cracks are filled with minerals such as calcite and aragonite. Its name comes from the Latin word septum, meaning partition, due to the network of compartments formed by the natural cracks in its structure.

Cavity and crystallization:

This specimen features a cavity with calcite druse. Small natural calcite crystals cover the inside of the cavity, offering a subtle sparkle in the visible areas. The natural formation of this druse has been respected in the egg-shaped carving process.

Carving and general appearance:

The septarian has been carved into an ovoid shape, maintaining a predominant surface on the outside with the characteristic septarian veins and a deep hollow where the calcite crystals are visible.

To consider:

This specimen is a unique piece. The exact specimen shown in the images will be sent. The wooden stand shown in the photographs is not included in the product. Due to their natural origin, septarians may present small cracks, irregularities, and variations perceptible to the touch even after polishing.
