Online First Policy

At UniArt, we apply a clear and strict policy that puts the distance buyer at the centre and protects the quality of what they receive. We only send selected pieces, and display items are never used for online orders.

Why we apply this policy

This way of working responds to a well-known concern in the sector. Many professional customers are wary of buying minerals online because they have had the bad experience of receiving pieces of lower quality than expected. When, at a physical display, customers can personally choose the units they like most, while those buying online do not have that same advantage, it is only logical to think that the less attractive or less consistent pieces may be the ones left for online sales. At UniArt, we work the other way round, precisely to avoid that situation.

Selection from the source

That is why we start much earlier, at the source. We select suppliers who guarantee us a higher level of quality, and we also take on the additional cost involved in that selection at origin. We do not simply look for available stock: we look for material that meets a quality standard suitable for professional online sales, where the customer buys on the basis of photographs, measurements, descriptions and trust.

Inspection and specific selection for online orders

When the goods arrive at our facilities, we inspect them piece by piece. Units with defects or which do not meet our standard are discarded. From there, we make a specific selection for the online channel, setting aside the pieces that best match what appears in the product listing: measurements, shape, colour, overall appearance and level of quality. In products sold as assortments or under a standard reference, the selection is made with the aim of achieving the greatest possible consistency with the images and descriptions published. For higher-value pieces, this level of care is reinforced even further, in many cases to the point of photographing each piece individually.

What happens to pieces that do not fit the online standard

Anything that falls outside that online standard — because of variations in size, colour, shape or presentation — is not added to the general online sale. Those pieces are moved to the physical display, where the purchasing logic is different: the customer can choose in person and, in that context, diversity is not a problem; in many cases, it is even desirable. This can be especially useful for customers who prefer to select in person, either face to face or by video call, an option that we also offer in order to make direct selection easier when the type of product requires it.

Display stock is not used to complete online orders

The rule is clear: display stock does not go onto the website. It can only leave that circuit when the customer expressly selects it by video call. Outside that case, display pieces are not used to complete or replace online orders.

Our commitment to the distance buyer

In other words, at UniArt we do not use the website to clear what does not sell from display stock. We do exactly the opposite. First, we protect the quality and consistency of the online channel with a specific selection, and then we allocate to display those more varied pieces that do not fit the standard defined for online sales.

Our Online First policy has a very clear objective: that the professional customer buying at a distance receives material that is consistent with what they have seen in the product listing and can buy with confidence, knowing that they are not receiving display leftovers, but a selection prepared expressly for them.
