Design, finish and functionality:
This soapstone candle holder, also known as steatite, is hand-carved in India and consists of a solid square base and a square screen carved on all four sides. Each face features a tree motif that allows the candle light to pass through and project it through the carving, creating a decorative effect around the piece. The combination of the natural tone of the stone and the gray finish enhances the carved design, while the two-piece structure facilitates the placement, removal and cleaning of the candle.
