Handcrafted three-piece set in soapstone, originating from India, designed for incense holder or candle holder. Its openwork tower with elephant motifs allows for an ambient diffusion of smoke or light, creating a distinctive visual effect in any space.
Main features:
Material and artisanal technique:
This tower is carved from soapstone, also known as steatite, a natural stone prized in Indian craftsmanship for its softness and ease of carving. The piece is a manual work where the dedication in the openwork details of the elephants is appreciated. The set is presented in the natural colors of steatite, which can vary in shades of gray, beige, or grayish green.
Design and functionality:
The design of this tower consists of three pieces: a base, the carved tower with openwork elephant figures and a versatile cube. The cube allows placing up to five incense sticks or a candle, adapting to different candle thicknesses thanks to its different hole sizes. By covering the incense stick or candle with the tower, a visual effect is created where smoke or light filters through the openwork, forming a particular atmosphere.
To consider:
The pieces shown in the images are samples, and there may be natural variations in color, tone, and veining in the steatite between units. Due to manual artisanal work, asymmetries or irregularities may be found. Steatite is a fragile material that requires careful handling. If used with incense or candles, the piece may heat up; it is recommended to handle it with caution when lit. For cleaning incense ashes, it is preferable to wait for the stick to extinguish and carefully remove the tower onto a suitable surface. The design is intended as a decorative object and support for incense, not for containing ashes. Incense and candles visible in the images are not part of the product.
