Handcrafted incense plate from India, made of soapstone and carved with elephant motifs. Each piece, with an approximate diameter of 10 cm, stands out for its manual engravings and can be displayed as a decorative element individually.
Main features:
Material and artisanal technique:
These incense plates are hand-carved from soapstone, also known as steatite, a material traditionally used by Indian artisans for its softness and ease of working. The process is done manually, which gives each piece a unique character.
Decorative motif and color:
Each plate features a detailed engraving of an elephant, an animal considered sacred in Indian culture and a symbol of wisdom, strength, and good fortune. Three models with different designs are offered: an elephant in black tones, another in a combination of vibrant colors, and a third with the motif engraved in red. The colors are applied by hand to the stone surface.
Functional use:
These plates are designed for use as stick incense holders, with a central hole to ensure the stability of the incense while it burns. Their flat design helps collect ashes.
To consider:
The pieces in the images are samples. Due to their artisanal nature and the character of soapstone, slight variations in veining, tone, and color may occur between units, as well as small asymmetries or differences in finish. Steatite is a fragile material that requires careful handling. The incense visible in the images is for illustrative purposes only and is not included with the product.
