Crystalline white apophyllite on chalcedony and basalt with associated stilbite

Mineral specimen with strong visual presence, composed of well crystallised white apophyllite on a chalcedony matrix set on volcanic basalt, with visible associations of peach toned stilbite.

Main features:

  • Minerals: white apophyllite with associated stilbite on chalcedony in basalt
  • Approximate measurements: 16 cm x 15 cm x 9 cm
  • Approximate weight: 3,370 kg
  • Origin: Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India

Mineralogical and aesthetic description:

The specimen shows a prominent crystallisation of white apophyllite, with well defined translucent crystals irregularly distributed over a dark grey chalcedony base. This matrix creates a very strong contrast with the white apophyllite, enhancing the crystal geometry and providing a clear and powerful visual reading of the mineral assemblage.

Among the apophyllite crystals, small stilbite formations in peach tones can be observed, introducing warm nuances and a subtle chromatic counterpoint within the overall composition. The presence of basalt as the host rock reinforces the geological character of the specimen and provides a visually solid and stable base.

Please note:

Although it can be positioned vertically for display, the use of rear support and a stable surface is recommended to ensure proper stability.

Unique piece. The exact specimen shown in the images will be shipped.
