Osiris Pendulum, DJED Pillar

The Osiris DJED Pillar pendulum, made of metal, represents an amulet widely used in ancient Egypt, believed to bring longevity, renewal, vitality and balance to its bearer. By analogy with the spine of Osiris, it was also associated with strengthening the vertebral column.

It weighs approximately 21 g and measures about 4.5 cm x 1 cm.

Available in four colours: silver, brass, copper and graphite.

The column depicted in this pendulum was used during the Royal Jubilee festivals, later associated with Osiris. These ceremonies, known as the Raising of the Djed Pillar, symbolised the kingdom’s stability, the resurrection of Osiris and his triumph over Seth. This ritual was performed periodically to restore, rebuild and revitalise the pharaoh’s strength so he could continue his reign.
