Brazilian amethyst geode with central formation and chalcedony rim

Cathedral type amethyst geode from southern Brazil, with a compact format and balanced structure, featuring a well defined internal crystallisation.

Main features:

  • Mineral: amethyst
  • Origin: southern Brazil
  • Approximate measurements and weight: 21 cm x 15 cm x 11 cm, 4 kg

Mineralogical and aesthetic description:

The interior shows amethyst crystallisation in a balanced violet tone, with well formed crystals and a vitreous lustre. The cavity is not especially deep, but allows a clear view of the internal structure of the geode.

In the central area, a grouped crystal formation with expansive growth stands out, adding visual interest to the piece. The geode is framed by a visible chalcedony band, which defines the cavity and creates a natural contrast with the amethyst.

Please note:

In Brazilian geodes, it is common for the base and the rear to be reinforced with mortar in order to consolidate the cathedral type structure and reduce the risk of collapses over time.

As this is a unique piece, the buyer will receive exactly the geode shown in the images.
