Beryl varieties

Beryl is a silicate mineral that naturally occurs in a wide range of colours.

Each chromatic variety of beryl has its own specific name and is appreciated for its aesthetic qualities and distinct character. Among the most well-known varieties are the following:

  • Emerald: The green variety of beryl, whose colour is due to the presence of chromium and vanadium in its composition. It is one of the most highly valued varieties within this mineral group.
  • Aquamarine: A blue or blue green variety of beryl. Its name refers to its resemblance to sea water and it is widely used in jewellery.
  • Morganite: A pink or salmon coloured variety of beryl. It is named in honour of J. P. Morgan and is characterised by its soft and delicate appearance.
  • Heliodor: A yellow to golden yellow variety of beryl. Its name derives from the Greek helios, meaning sun, in reference to its luminous colour.

In addition to these varieties, beryl may occur in other less common tonalities. Each one offers its own visual nuances and is used both in jewellery and in gemstone collections.

Jewellery applications

These beads are suitable for the creation of necklaces, bracelets and other handcrafted accessories. The mix of colours allows their use in both multicolour designs and softer, more harmonious compositions.

Please note:

The bead diameter is approximate and may show slight variations inherent to the cutting of natural stone. The drilling hole usually represents approximately 10 % of the bead diameter.

As this is natural beryl, the beads may display inclusions, veining, clouds or colour variations. These characteristics are inherent to the material and are not considered defects.
