This handcrafted soapstone set from India consists of two candle holders that, when joined, form the shape of the Yin Yang. It has a dual functionality: as a candle holder for tea lights and as an incense stick holder.
Main features:
Material and artisanal technique:
Each candle holder is hand-carved from soapstone, also known as steatite, a material traditionally used in India for its ease of carving. The manual process gives each piece a unique character.
Decorative design and finish:
The set consists of two pieces that, when joined, form the Yin Yang figure. These pieces have been painted black and feature floral engravings distributed over the surface, standing out against the dark background.
Functionality:
Each of the two pieces has a cavity suitable for holding a tea light. In addition, each section includes a hole specifically designed for placing an incense stick, offering a dual decorative and aromatic functionality.
To consider:
The pieces shown in the images are for sample purposes only. Soapstone is a material that, due to its natural characteristics and manual carving, may present variations in color, tone, and veining between units, as well as small asymmetries or irregularities inherent to artisanal work. The fragility of steatite requires careful handling of the pieces. Incense sticks and candles that may appear in the images are not included. The incense hole is designed to hold the stick, not to contain the ashes.
