Incense box handcrafted from soapstone, also known as steatite, originating from India. Its functional design allows storing incense sticks inside and using the sliding lid as a holder for burning.
Main features:
Material and artisanal technique:
This incense box is made of steatite, also known as soapstone. Steatite is a soft metamorphic rock, whose particular feel and ease of carving have made it a traditional material for craftsmanship in India. Each piece features hand-engraved floral patterns on both sides, which stand out against the black-dyed background.
Design and functionality:
The design of this box allows storing incense sticks inside, with approximate dimensions of 3 cm x 3 cm of internal space. The sliding lid not only protects the contents but also functions as a holder for the incense stick during burning, collecting the ashes at its base.
Please note:
The pieces in the images are samples. Due to the artisanal nature of this product made from natural stone, slight asymmetries or irregularities inherent in manual work may be present. Steatite is a fragile material that requires careful handling. Subtle variations in tone, color, and veining of the stone may exist between different units. Incense sticks visible in the images are for illustration purposes only and are not included with the product.
